Key Largo Coral Restoration Dive: Sea Turtles and Conservation Work

One for the books today! Our October coral restoration dive in Key Largo kicked off at 9:00 am under clear conditions throughout the day. The crew joined us for what turned out to be a productive morning on the water, working with the local reef systems that make this area special for conservation diving. We guided the crew as part of Key Dives with our Coral Restoration Dive in Key Largo program.

Once the stage was set, we focused on buoyancy control, underwater navigation, and controlled ascents while working the restoration sites. The crew encountered Green Sea Turtle and Greater Amberjack during our time below, adding some solid wildlife viewing to the conservation work.

Key Dives runs these coral restoration dives on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month as part of the I.CARE initiative, and October continues to deliver consistent conditions for this type of specialized diving. The program works well for certified divers who want to contribute to marine conservation while gaining hands-on experience with coral planting, cleaning, and monitoring activities. We provide detailed orientation and support throughout both guided restoration dives, along with all necessary restoration materials.
